           MISSION STATEMENT
   
  Founded in 1995, Salt Lake Metro has provided comprehensive player development programs for individuals who seek to play high school , college  and professional basketball at the highest level.

                           

The goal of Salt Lake Metro is simple:

        Develop the best basketball players in the Intermountain West at all levels.

 

Whatever your basketball aspirations may be Salt Lake Metro will provide you with your best opportunity to maximize your abilities and potential as a high school player or potential college recruit. 

 Here are the reasons for our success:
  • Salt Lake Metro's basketball teams are nationally recognized.
  • Attendance at elite tournaments nationwide allows our players to play and compete against the top players in the nation. 
  • Head coach Dave Hammer has twelve years of experience at various college levels, coaching, developing, recruiting and evaluating players.

As a result, over 158 former Salt Lake Metro boys players and 129 girls players have gone on to play at the collegiate level. 

76 boys players and 67 girls players have played NCAA division one (d-1) basketball. 

Basketball players that have trained and competed for Salt Lake Metro have won the following awards.

  • Nine Utah Mr. Basketball
  • Two Boys Utah Gatorade Player of the Year
  • Two Boys Wyoming Gatorade Player of the Year
  • Four Utah Ms. Basketball
  • Six Girls Utah Gatorade Players of the Year

Salt Lake Metro staff and coaches provides expert personalized assistance in the following areas:

  • Individual / Team Strategy
  • On court skills training
  • Specific position training
  • NCAA Clearinghouse assistance
  • Player evaluation
  • College recruiting
* Utah Avalanche girls program merged with Salt Lake Metro in 2005.

Players are selected by invitation only. 

Our travel team rosters are limited in size so we are able to insure maximum player development.

If you are a top regional basketball player that would like to compete for Salt Lake Metro please complete the player evaluation request form.

High school and college coaches desiring placement of athletes on Salt Lake Metro teams or player development sessions may contact us by email or by having the athlete complete the player evaluation form.
