The Intermountain West's premier club basketball program

Salt Lake Metro was formed in 1992. Our first team represented the state of Utah in the 12 & under National AAU tournament. Beginning in 1995 the organization was expanded to include 15 & under, 16 & under and 17 & under teams. We have continued on as a club program since that time.
1995 brought attendance at the inaugural Spiece RunNSlam All Star Classic and the inaugural Adidas Big Time Tournaments. During the 1997-1998 year the 17 & under team won two national tournament championships, Spiece RunNSlam Summer and BCI Spring Classic.
No team from Utah has ever won two national tournaments in one year at the 17 & under level.
In 1999, Salt Lake Metro received the first invitation from the state of Utah to play in the prestigious Tournament of Champions held in North Carolina. An invitation to the inaugural Kingwood Classic followed in 2002. 2004 brought induction into the Spiece Hall of Fame to our founder and head coach Dave Hammer. In 2005 an invitation to attend the inaugural Next Level Baller tournament was received.
In 2005 Salt Lake Metro expanded into girl's club basketball by merging with Anita Rowland's highly successful Utah Avalanche club basketball program. The Utah Avalanche club was started in 1994 and was considered by most experts to be Utah's most prestigious girl's club program.
We have participated in tournaments in the following states: Arizona, California, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.
